The ability to maintain balance is very important in the life of every person, especially the youngest.
Stilts were already known in the world several thousand years ago. They were invented in order to be a little higher. They were used, for example, to cross streams with a dry foot. The Chinese used them in performances, where they danced on them, playing mythical characters. Stilts could be found in Africa or in the time of the Mayans. In ancient Rome they were used by street dancers, and in France in swampy areas by shepherds.
The art of maintaining balance on stilts / clogs is a challenge for a young child, which our little one should manage without a problem. This game exercises eye-hand coordination and balance skills.
The child is free to put his foot in them and with each step he makes contact with the ground in a fairly stable way. In addition, the joy is that the toddler is a piece higher off the ground.
To move he still engages his hands. Each stilt has a string attached, which allows you to lift it up together with the foot with each step. Thanks to this simple action, playing on stilts exercises not only the legs and sense of balance, but also the hands and motor coordination.
The game can be made more interesting by adding additional elements. After determining the starting point and the finish line, we let the child reach it in any way he wants. We mark out a route, with turns, laps, then to this route we add small obstacles, which the child will pass by raising his legs higher with stilts.
Stilts can be used for active outdoor activities, but you can also play with them at home.
